A cross cultural educational program titled “Foreign Students As Teachers!” was conducted by Public Interest Incorporated Association for Promotion of International Understanding (APIU) with the help of AIRA’s volunteers’ pick-up service. (No. 17-24)
Four AIRA representatives visited Yamashina Institute for Ornithology to make a donation on December 19th. AIRA’s contribution came from the profits by selling Aho-dori manju (steamed red-bean-paste buns with a stamped albatross on the top) and donations by AIRA members at the 26th Abiko International Festival on November 26th. On December 7, 2017, AIRA held a bus tour to Glicopia (Confectionery Plant) and Sekiyado-Jo (Castle) Museum to enjoy a good autumn day. (No.17-19)
The 26th Abiko International Festival was held on a beautiful autumn Sunday under the theme “Let’s Fly Together on the Wings of Friendship”. Prior to the festival, a Peruvian folk dance was performed at the entrance of Abiko Shopping Plaza as the opening event. (No. 17--18)
