The 26th Abiko International Festival was held on a beautiful autumn Sunday under the theme “Let’s Fly Together on the Wings of Friendship”. Prior to the festival, a Peruvian folk dance was performed at the entrance of Abiko Shopping Plaza as the opening event. (No. 17--18)

On the last day of the second term AIRA Saturday Class held a quiz party titled “Let’s Get Familiar with Japanese Geography”. 　　(No.17-22)

A lecture for volunteer teachers of AIRA Japanese Language Course was held. This was the second lecture this year following the first one “Easy Japanese in View of Vocabulary”, which was held in July. (No.17-20)

For many foreigners particularly those beginners in Japan, shuji, calligraphy must be undoubtedly one of the attractive subjects to learn. AIRA has been lighting up a candle of calligraphy lesson as one of the cultural courses for foreigners for fairly long period. “Let’s try to write my favorite words in kanji” was today’s theme.　　 (17-15)

“Japan Bird Festival 2017” aiming at “Creating Coexistence Between Humans and Birds” was held for two days. AIRA members participated as volunteer interpreters for the foreign booths at the request of the executive committee. (No.17-16)
