The cross-cultural understanding lecture is designed to introduce the culture and customs of a foreign speaker to Japanese people. This year’s topic was in what way people learn languages in the U.K. The speaker, Mr. Daniel Edwin Lee, talked about how people in the U.K., a multi-cultural country, learn other languages. The 19th Japan Bird Festival opened on November 2nd, under the theme of “Encouraging closer coexistence with wild birdlife”. This bird festival is one of the largest wild bird related events in Japan with a lot of participants from abroad and at home. AIRA dispatched interpreters to support booths from other countries.
