119Mrs. Mary Adachi visited Japan this year too, being accompanied with 14 students of Northern Arizona University. This “NAU in Japan 2018 Program” is the 4th time event at this year. Mary-san who is an instructor of Japanese language at this university is also Japan’s leader of Study Abroad Section of the International Education Center.
The schedule of this group was minutely and fully programmed from their arrival in Japan on June 14 till their departure of July 11. To begin with, AIRA sent some English interpreters to Sojinkan Memorial House,Abiko city where the group visited soon after their arrival in Japan. Also,AIRA extended some assistance to the Welcome party which was performed to let the students meet first with the home-stay families scheduled in July.  (No.18-4)

All people gathered at Keyaki Plaza of the south gate of Abiko JR station in little rain and received English guide book at the Abi-sirube Information center.
It took approx.7 to 8 minutes by walking till Sojinkan Memorial House wherein Curator, Daisuke Takagi,has explained the details of Sojinkan, the house and the exhibitions in English.
The interpreters of AIRA have also assisted him in explaining complicated matters in English and offered supplemental information which they studied beforehand.

2. Holding of the exchange meeting with the students as well as welcome party.

    Participants from Japan: Staffs & students of Chuo Gakuin Univ.,14 Host families,
    AIRA staffs (Hesaki, Hayasaka, Kitajima, Murakoshi, Adachi, Arai, Sakurada, Sakatume and Araki, without honorifics )
Prior to the welcome party scheduled in the afternoon,both students of Chuo Gakuin Univ. and NAU had the exchange meeting and mutually enjoyed very much through self-introduction,quiz etc by chairmanship of the students of Chuo Gakuin Univ.

At the welcome party, NAU students had friendly talks with relative host family members. Many of the host families have small kids and seem to looking forward to receiving the students next month as both people became so friendly already.
