With the cooperation of Chuo Gakuin University, 24 series of Japanese teaching method class has been held at its campus from June 2009.
Out of 23 trainees including one repeater of the previous course, 22 have completed the whole curriculum. Among them, several students were those from neighboring cities.
Same as the former semesters, the course was taken charge of by Professor Hiroaki Kitamura of Seitoku University, and Ms. Makiko Yamaguchi of Asuka Gakuin College.
All trainees have studied eagerly and enthusiastically.
A finishing ceremony was held this day after the last class of the course.
Mr. I. Shiina, President of Chuo Gakuin University handed diplomas one by one to the students, quoting an encouraging phrase, "a mountain wouldn't move of itself, so it is important for you to step forward to it by yourself."
Two absent students were to receive diplomas later day, it was announced.
Thirty-eight graduates have already teaching at AIRA's Japanese class.
Mr. S. Tsukamoto, one of trainees and Director of AIRA's Study Department expressed a thanks message to the two teachers and to the kindness given by Chuo Gakuin University, who has offered class room during the entire period.
The chief of the trainees said, "we have just learned the basic 24 units, but if I put it into the manner of the famous Tokaido Travel, we are only at the stage of just arriving at the Shinagawa station, remaining Kyoto at far beyond. It may happen we would be delayed and even go back to Edo. So we wish dear our teachers would kindly further watch us." His message draw a big laughter.
Finally students handed bouquets of flowers to the teachers and took picture altogether.
After the ceremony, students and teachers had a very pleasant finishing party at a nearby restaurant.
