Future Teachers Completed Course

thumb_nihongo2008日時:2009年2月 3日 (水) 15:30 ~16:30
場所:中央学院大学 6号館612号教室
Date: Wednesday, February 3rd, 2009 15:30 to 16:30
Place: Chuo Gakuin University, No.6 Building Room 612

The "How-to-Teach Japanese Course" had been held since June, 2008 with 24 lessons at the campus of Chuo Gakuin University in Abiko. The classroom was provided free by the university.
Out of 27 students originally entered, 25 have completed the whole course, and two persons left early due to inevitable reasons.
It is notable that the students' attendance ratio showed very high; eleven students marked full attendance and ten students were absent from the class only one time.
Among the students, eight were those from neighboring cities.
The course was carried out with the two-tier carriculam, namely, the teaching methodology was taught by Professor Kitamura of Seitoku University, and the practical teaching method was done by Professor Makiko Yamaguchi of Askuka Gakuin.
Every student has studied hard and with much interest.
After the final class on February 3rd, a humble completion ceremony was held at the classroom.
Mr. Ichiro Shiina, President of the university and AIRA's Vice President, gave a brief congraturatory address and handed a diploma to the each learner. The same diploma will be issued to an absentee.
Mr. Shigeo Tsukamoto, General Manager of the Culture and Education Division, who also studied at the class, expressed thanks to the both teachers and to the generosity of the Chuo Gakuin University.
At the closing of the year-long course, Professor Kitamura encouraged students saying, "You should teach not the way you would like to teach, but do the way you would like to be taught". Meanwhile, Ms. Yamaguchi advised that everyone should do one's best efforts toward a firm target.
In the end, the both teachers were gifted bouquet and posed for a picture together with all students.
After the ceremony, teachers and students enjoyed talking over cup of tea on the lectures and practices in the past memorial eight months.
Door will be open for those who are willing to start as a fresh teacher at AIRA's regular Japanese class on Tuesdays and Saturdays in the coming new semester.
For the readers information, the 2009 How-to-Teach Japanese Course is scheduled to be held in June.
