The tenth Japan Bird Festival (JBF) was held along the lakeside of Teganuma on October 23 and 24. Associating with the festival, a newly planned event, Animating Town Action (Nigiwaitai) added lively gaiety of festivity around the Abiko station and nearby streets. The event aimed to promote town's prosperity, people's communication and welcoming more people to enjoy the town. In order to participate in the activity, AIRA hurriedly formed a group, Cultural Dance Group, and presented a bamboo dance show in the event.
The Philippine's popular bamboo dance was originally made after the action of a bird called tycrin walking and flying skillfully evading traps. In this sense the bamboo dance timely met the spirit of the bird's festivity.
The 5 Philippine dancers were mainly AIRA Japanese class students.
Wearing the folkloric brilliant clothing specially handmade by the team leader Ms. Imerda Ono, they danced to the light music displaying excellent finishing of repeated rehearsals since last July.
Some audience including a child tried the dancing.
Throughout the performance time they received warm attention and big hands from crowds of spectators. (vol.130)
