In a "pot luck party” guests bring something to eat or drink. It's thrilling to see and taste a variety of foods and drinks colorfully arranged on the table.
This time the following foods and drinks were prepared:
Sekihan (rice cooked with red beans), inari-zushi (sushi rice stuffed in deep-fried bean curd), chirashi-zushi (sushi rice mixed with shredded mushrooms, carrot, egg, etc.), maki-zushi (sushi roll), Chinese shredded and fried pork with green pepper , Spanish omelet, fried egg, simmered squid and Japanese radish, potato salad, harusame salad (bean-starch vermicelli salad), boiled spinach seasoned with soy sauce and sesame, pickles, baguette sandwiches, pudding, cookies, sakura-mochi (Japanese sweet rice cake wrapped in a salted cherry leaf), rice crackers, strawberries, green tea, barley tea, soft drinks, etc.
While enjoying foods and drinks, all the guests introduced themselves in turn. Among them was a young Japanese mother with two babies, who said she liked an event like that and would like to join AIRA events again. And there were five non-Japanese from Congo, Canada, China and Taiwan. One of them was a junior high-school girl who came to Japan from China only a few months ago and introduced herself in good Japanese.
The attendance was not large, but everyone had a good time mingling in a friendly atmosphere.
