Due to the university's regulation of ban on commuting-by-car, every student was required to take a school bus or to go on foot from the nearby railway station. In the beginning, therefore, it was worried whether students would endure such an inconvenience, however, it was utterly groundless.
Twenty seven men and women received the course quite earnestly at an amazing high presence rate; of them eleven students in full attendance and a very few absence of only 3 days at most.
Many students revealed that learning at the university campus made them recall their own academic life far in the past.
Mr. Hiroaki Kitamura, professor of Seitoku University, lectured mainly on the theoretical features and Ms. Makiko Yamaguchi, professor of Asuka Gakuin taught more or less practical aspects such as teaching method and technique.
Most students expressed how they were enjoying the valuable occasion of studying in the class. No one would deny that these teachers would have a good reputation of excellent teaching ability in this field of study.
On the final day, February 22, 2007, a completion ceremony was held at the class.
Mr. T. Sugano, General Manager of Voluntary Activity Division, handed diploma to the all students who had duly completed the whole course. At the end of the ceremony, a bouquet was presented to the each teacher as a token of thanks, who posed for the camera together with all the students.
Approximately half of the graduates are expected to make a debut at the forthcoming Japanese class in May 2007, as rookie voluntary teachers either in the Tuesday or Saturday class.
For your information, new Japanese teaching course is scheduled to be held on every Wednesday starting July, 2007, at the same place and curriculum.
