Day/Time: Sunday, November13, 2005 from 10:00am to 2:30pm
Place: Ciba Prefectural Tegano-Oka Boys Nature House
Orgnized by: Joint Committee of Boys Nature House Festival and International Relations Associations Get-Together
The festival was held in the gymnasium of the House. The two sides of the hall were decorated with panels of photos, pictures and reports showing the activities of JICA and 4 International Relations Associations of Abiko, Kashiwa, Noda and Nagareyama cities.
Association staffs vended ethnic dishes such as tempura (fried) banana and stewed meat-and-vegetable soup. The utmost specialty at the AIRA booth was the sale of order-made manjyu (steamed bean-jam buns) branded with the figure of kingfisher.
Enjoying warm sunshine, holiday-making families continuously streamed into the festival site and thronged around open air snack stalls and flea market shops.
Inside the gymnasium, various performances delighted the audience.
They were, thunderous Japanese drums play, school children's sweet chorus, dramatic tsugaru shamisen music, bold brass band, ohayashi (Japanese musical band), skilful magic show, and amusing street performance.
Audience gave hearty applause to Korean and Philippine dancers. The last group on stage was The Tega Rangers, appearing with costume and makeup after the popular TV program. They played out a battle in which the guardian of the water of Lake Teganuma defeated the villains polluting the water. Both children and grownups cheered dynamic actions of players almost spilling out of the wide stage.
