Place:Abista(cooking room)
Instructress:Ms. Eiko Murakami
The introductory class of Korean Language had just started in May, 2005 with Korean teacher, Miss Lee Jeong Hee. Apart from the regular class, a Korean cooking class was held on July 11 with a purpose to learn some national dishes and to deepen mutual friendship. Three popular Korean dishes were presented, namely, Bibimbap, Cucumber-Kimchi and Wakame soup. In the class Ms. Eiko Murakami was invited as a Korean cooking specialist. She runs a Korean cooking class at home and a good friend of Miss Lee. With appropriate explanations by Miss Lee and pinpointed instructions by Ms. Murakami, all learners enjoyed cooking with pleasant chatting. Two male students handled kitchen knives so skillfully that all women were almost put to shame.
In the regular language class, students are usually taught not only of a textbook but also some easy Korean songs and poems for beginners.
Moreover, once a month students whose birthdays fall in the month are presented rose flowers by teacher and a happy-card filled with pleasing lines and names by classmates.
They are celebrated by a pleasant singing of happy-birthday song in Korean.
On this cooking day, two students whose birthdays fell in July were celebrated by all attendants with happy birthday song in Korean while enjoying dishes made by themselves. The happiest people were Mizukami-san and Kumagai-san.
Now, what sort of Korean numbers would be performed by these students at the AIRA's annual festival in November? Would they be some tunes picked up from the most popular Korean TV drama, Winter Sonata? Obviously some students in the class seem ardent fans of Bae Yong Joon.
